Tiffany Weng: GOLD MEDALIST for 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
by SKA on 09/10/17A big congratulations to SKA student Tiffany Weng! Tiffany, who is a rising senior, has received special recognition for her piece titled "Vogue" in the drawing and illustration category of the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Not only did she win a regional gold key in this competition, but she has won a GOLD MEDAL, which is a national recognition only awarded to top works around the nation. This is no easy feat as this year's contest had more than 330,000 works of art and writing, and less than 1% is selected at the national level. Tiffany's award proves that she is one of the most talented young artist of today's youth. For this, Tiffany, her parents, and her teacher were invited to attend the awards ceremony at the world famous Carnegie Hall in New York on June 8th. At this ceremony, Tiffany, as well as her teacher, Ms. Leng, were awarded their well-deserved gold medals. In addition to receiving her medal, Tiffany's work will be displayed at the prestigious Parsons School of Design at the New School and Pratt Institute's Pratt Manhattan Gallery from June 2nd-June 12th. Congratulations again to Tiffany Weng for her amazing work!
